This meeting will start earlier than our usual time with the first part of the meeting given over to our AGM
the AGM will be followed, at approximately 7:45, by a talk by Richard Churchley
Dr. Richard Churchley, a local historian, will give an illustrated talk outlining the development of the needle trade in Warwickshire & Worcestershire from its beginnings in the C17th to its demise in the C20th. From a small cottage industry it expanded to become a major industry in the Redditch, Alcester & Studley area, at its height employing thousands of men, women and children in the production of needles and fish hooks that were exported all over the world.
