In a departure from our usual style of event, this meeting is a performance of stories, folk songs and poetry describing the disastrous 1872 emigration of Warwickshire farm labourers to Brazil in search of a better life.
Seduced by promises of land and high wages, the reality was quite different and many died of disease and starvation both on the voyage and after arriving in Brazil.
