In September 1617 King James I visited Warwick on his state progress around the country. Despite such a momentous occasion and the crippling debt Warwick incurred for hosting the king almost nothing is known about the event. To commemorate the 400th anniversary, local historians Aaron Manning and Adam Busiakiewicz present newly researched stories that paint a fascinating picture of this famous royal visit.

Aaron Manning is a local historian of Warwick Castle and its Earls, and Adam Busiakiewicz is a PhD student at the University of Warwick.
