In the winter of 1923, journalists flooded into Warwickshire to report on the juiciest local election in years. In this talk, local historian Aaron Manning tells the story of how the Warwick and Leamington local election caught the eyes of the nation, told through the perspectives of the Labour Party’s candidate Frances Evelyn Maynard, better known as Daisy countess of Warwick, and her Conservative rival Anthony Eden.
